The Challenge
Fintech is one of the most competitive verticals in organic search. The YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) classification means Google applies higher scrutiny to ranking signals — a new domain with no backlinks and no track record will not rank for commercial keywords regardless of content quality. The solution is not to compete head-to-head with established players. It is to establish authority in a narrower topical cluster first, then expand.
Research
The research phase produced a keyword map of 3,200 potential target terms, clustered by intent (informational, commercial, transactional) and competitive difficulty. Key insight: the top 40 commercial keywords for the product category are entirely owned by incumbents with 10+ years of domain authority. However, 80% of users who eventually purchase the product start their research with informational queries — and the informational space is underserved.
Strategy

Design
The content design system treated every article as a product — with a defined structure (hook, context, depth, CTA), consistent internal linking patterns, schema markup, and a visual design that distinguishes it from generic blog content. Development

Lessons Learned
The most common mistake in B2B SaaS SEO is starting with product pages. Product pages require commercial intent from the visitor — but commercial intent is the last stage of the buyer journey, not the first. Building authority on informational content creates a pipeline of users who discover the company while researching their problem, and then convert weeks or months later when they reach commercial intent.
